Great headset [Posted on 2008-10-03] This item functions as promised. It is a little bulkier than newer models, but performs well.
No Quality Control at Plantronics [Posted on 2008-10-03] After I sadly received my Plantronics 510 ten days after the estimated date of shipment, it failed to be able to pair with my basic blackberry. I called Plantronics tech support line, where they were unable to find a solution, and directed me to their online warranty repair form.
Having only just received the product, and only after repeated calls to Amazon to get it reshipped after the first shipment was in delivery limbo somewhere, I was beyond having the patience to fill out forms and wait an additional 3 to 5 days to receive this product.
How can their hands-free not be able to pair with a basic blackberry device, directly out of the box? How can there possibly be such a faulty system of quality control? I no longer care if it's a good product. I'm moving on. I purchased through Amazon for the convenience, but have received gobs and gobs of the opposite. I'm done.
Way too much static [Posted on 2008-10-04] Bought this because of so many great reviews... But I've had problems and am returning it. In most locations, indoors and out, there's too much static for me to be understood. I can hear others fairly well, but I've had to end too many calls because it was torture for the folks on the other side.
Good product but not for small ears [Posted on 2008-10-05] This is really a great headset in terms of sound quality and overall. The noise cancelling/wind reduction feature makes a big difference. My only reservation was that it was bulky and heavy on the ear if you have small ears like me. It kept falling off and so I was adjusting it so much that it became dangerous to have on since I was fumbling with it more than i would if I was holding the cell phone by itself. I recommend the Plantronics Discovery 610 if you don't like anythng wrapped around your ear.
Overall good product though. Volume was a bit hard to adjust if it was on your ear though.
Great fit, works like a charm [Posted on 2008-10-05] I have owned two of these now. The first one I used for nearly 2 years and people were complaining that I was breaking up alot. I purchased a second one, and it works great too. Reception is very clear. I loved it so much I bought one for my fiance' and he loves it too. That's 3 total, so we must be happy with it!
