Poor design [Posted on 2005-06-02] Cardo 500 bluetooth headset has a really nice and ergonomic design. This adapter is a totally different story.
To start with - it is too big. Along with my cellphone (Audiovox 8600) which is relatively small in of itself, it feels like having an apple in my pocket. Secondly - the buttons are too big. They get accidentally pressed, and it was not uncommon for the special unlocking sequence to be pressed and then hell breaks loose. Finally, although my specifc phone model can work with the Jabra A210 in automatic mode, this adapter does not know to go into standby after some period of inactivity and therefore drains the battery. The manufacturer's suggested to use in manual mode - but then what's the point... I had to return this.
Cardo says a new version is due in June. I wonder how that would be priced.
DOes not adapt [Posted on 2007-03-24] I tried to use this unit with three different telephones and 2 different receivers--no combination worked. A VERY useless device. Maybe it works only with its own companion receiver, but if so, the description should state so. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money!
Works Great [Posted on 2008-02-26] I have used this adapter with a Sanyo cellphone and it worked just fine. It was very handy when I found out you can charge the adapter while in use.
Now, I use the BT adapter in a ham radio application to provide a wireless transmit/receive link from my headset to a radio. Works fine!
